As Finance Manager for the entire Theo Pouw Group, you’ll have the freedom not only to oversee financial processes but also to actively develop them further. You’ll combine leadership with substantive responsibility and play a key role in improving the financial organization. In this way, you’ll help build a reliable, efficient, and future-proof financial organization within a leading family-owned business.
What are you going to do?
You will report to the CFO and lead the accounting team as well as the invoicing and accounts payable team. The entire finance team consists of 11 colleagues. As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that financial records are complete, accurate, and timely; you will also play a key role in the continued professionalization, digitization, and optimization of the finance organization. The Finance Manager serves as a sounding board for the CFO and the Control Team. The responsibilities include:
- Provides day-to-day leadership to the finance team and coaches, motivates, and develops employees through, among other things, progress, performance review, and development discussions;
- Ensure a clear division of responsibilities and effective collaboration within the team;
- Monitoring the quality of financial records and reports;
- Coordinating the monthly and year-end closings; the Control Department is responsible for preparing the monthly figures;
- Together with the control department, you are responsible for preparing the annual financial statements;
- Assisting with audits;
- Preparing financial reports and balance sheet schedules;
- Monitoring tax compliance and adherence to laws and regulations;
- Monitoring liquidity and working capital;
- Tax returns;
- Identifying financial risks;
- Optimizing and digitizing financial processes;
- Contribute to standardization and uniformity within Finance;
- Advising the CFO on financial improvements and developments.
What are we asking?
You are a strong and inspiring leader who knows how to engage employees with clear goals and expectations. You combine financial expertise with leadership, organizational development, and process improvement. You bring calm and structure to the finance organization, encourage ownership, and actively contribute to the department’s continued growth and professionalization. You analyze complex problems but then know how to independently and practically translate the findings into solutions and resolve them systematically. You proactively contribute ideas in the best interest of the organization. You have no problem pitching in within the department yourself when necessary. You also bring the following:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in finance, accounting, or business economics;
- At least 3 years of relevant experience as a Finance Manager;
- Experience with financial statement preparation and audits;
- Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) is a strong plus; if you do not have experience with JDE, extensive experience with a comparable ERP system is a must;
- Experience with financial process optimization.
