System Administrator
As a system administrator at the Theo Pouw Group, you’ll work in a diverse role where no two days are alike. You’ll have the opportunity to automate processes, implement improvements, and further develop your technical skills through challenging projects and tasks.
What are you going to do?
You will be part of our IT department, which consists of 9 IT professionals. You will work alongside 6 colleagues in Utrecht, and there are 2 colleagues at the Eemshaven branch. As a system administrator, you will be responsible for managing, ensuring the availability of, and keeping the central and decentralized infrastructure up to date, which largely consists of Windows Servers running on VMware. In addition to your daily tasks, which you automate as much as possible, you take the initiative to improve the IT infrastructure and serve as a go-to person for more complex issues. You are responsible for backup and restore, the continuity and security of the various systems and networks, and you participate in projects. You coordinate with various suppliers who connect their OT networks to ours and ensure this is done securely. The infrastructure team also handles workplace management. Your responsibilities include:
- Management and maintenance of workstations, servers, networks, and firewalls;
- Management and maintenance of databases, backup solutions, and other IT systems;
- Management and maintenance of M365 and other cloud services;
- Monitoring the IT infrastructure and resolving (structural) disruptions;
- Strong focus on security;
- Implementing and maintaining security measures.
As part of the IT department, you will participate in the on-call service. This means that once every 6/8 weeks, you will be available 24/7 for IT issues for one week.
What are we asking?
You are approachable and have strong communication skills when interacting with your colleagues. You also bring the following to the table:
- At least an associate's degree in IT;
- At least 5 years of verifiable work experience and broad general knowledge in the field of IT infrastructure and security;
- Proficiency in spoken and written Dutch;
- Driver's license B.

A contract for 32-40 hours per week for 1 year with the prospect of permanent employment. We participate in the collective labor agreement for professional goods transport. This means you can also count on:

Who are we?
Our location in Utrecht is a one-stop shop offering products and services for ground, road, water, and concrete construction, from primary raw materials and secondary building materials to the processing of construction and demolition waste, soil cleaning, and the deployment of transport equipment, cranes, and shovels. In addition to producing high-quality concrete, we also coordinate the transport of building materials and manage the collection and processing of contaminated soil, construction and demolition waste.
